ABOUT MOMENTUM-IT

Momentum-IT (United Kingdom) is a wholly owned subsidiary of IOCORE Global Resourcing SA (Pty) Ltd in South Africa.

Momentum-IT was acquired by IOCORE Global Resourcing SA approximately 8 years ago as a going concern in the UK. To service the ever-increasing demand for IT skills in the international market place. An opportunity existed to use the low cost and high skill base of South African skills in both the IOCORE Global Group of companies as well as third party clients.

With the infrastructure situated in South Africa, Momentum-IT has for many years serviced the international market through a decentralized model with all management, finance, operations and sales functions situated in South Africa but trading through a registered legal entity in the United Kingdom.

Momentum-IT has retained a physical office in London and has a long-standing relationship with the company’s auditors in London that service any representation on behalf of Momentum-IT.

Momentum-IT specialise in the placement of highly skilled I.T. professional contractors across a wide range of technologies, skill sets and functions. We are also well positioned to place permanent skills on behalf of international clients. We have been actively involved in the sourcing and placement of permanent and contract employees in the Information Technology industry since 1997.

As a strong flexible staffing player, we do not consider ourselves a recruitment agency, but rather a partner that understands the challenges facing our clients in their respective industries. IGR have experienced the highs and lows of the global economy along with our customers and suppliers, all players have been affected to some extent by global events and many customers have had to look at their delivery model to secure greater value from their recruitment budget.

Budgetary constraint is putting pressure on headcount and while project and/or assignment work is required to be completed, customers are seeking business partners that can provide resources who will get it right first time and guarantee successful delivery & continuity to their organisation. Permanent placements: -

Fixed term placements i.e. contracting/consulting: -

  • Many customers who make use of contracted skills are looking to get more for the expenditure, i.e. value add, over and above the traditional contractor or consultant offering, for certain organisations, this is all that they require. However, other organisations are under pressure to obtain further value from their flexible/temporary or contracted work force. As a result, these companies are questioning the fact that contractual resources come into their organisation for a limited term, charge a premium and other than delivering the requirements leave without a trace of human capital growth.


Momentum have developed a model, which we successfully implemented internationally, whereby we deliver the required resources to undertake the clients deliverable, we then roll out the value added offering of engaging selected client resources into a structured training and mentoring programme within the specific skill set. As a result, the customer achieves the primary objective of delivery while secondary objectives of human capital growth is achieved through training and mentoring. Upon conclusion of the engagement the IGR/Momentum contractor then leaves a legacy of competence, which over time and through repetition leads to substantial benefit to the customer.

This model is adaptable to the individual client requirement but works particularly well where a group of contractors or consultants are required to deliver a specific assignment or project and where the engagement is over a reasonable time span.

This offer incorporates the following functions as well;

  • A Work Permit Division who handle the full work permit application and processing for international requirements
  • Resource Care Division who take care of the resources every need to ensure they have a sense of “belonging”, leaving you the client with a happy and productive resource
  • We cater for all of our resources needs such as accommodation, work permits and bank accounts.
  • Financial stability ensuring that our resources never suffer from delayed or missed payments


OTHER AREAS OF POTENTIAL INTEREST

Momentum through our exposure to the ICT market as a group company within a development and delivery project driven environment in the ICT sector believes that Momentum can add benefit to organisations in the following areas:

  • Outsourcing
  • Full – where clients outsource the “resource” function for an IT deliverable, which they have secured. This may be for corporates undertaking specific projects or ICT companies who have secured specific projects and do not wish to employ permanent resource for a limited duration deliverable.
  • Partial – where elements of the skill requirements for a specific project are outsourced.


In both the above instances, IGR/Momentum undertakes the provision of resources on the client’s site and infrastructure is provided by the client.

  • Insourcing


IGR/Momentum provides both the resource (technical and/or business) as well as the infrastructure required for the delivery.

IGR/Momentum does not take responsibility for the actual delivery and the client is expected to appoint the appropriate delivery management to whom the skilled resources will report.

IGR/Momentum accepts responsibility for the credentials of the skilled resources as detailed on their respective CV’s.
